Team Leaders: Mental Health Due to the progression of existing staff and a substantive Team Leader being seconded to further training, we have fabulous and rare opportunities to join our Community Mental Health Team in Coventry as a Team Leader based at Swanswell Point. Post one is a permanent and full-time post and will require you to be an Approved Mental Health Professional. Post two is for an initial period of 6 months. As this is a secondment / fixed-term opportunity, applications from non-AMHPs will be accepted together with those who hold an AMHP qualification. This is an opportunity to experience and develop your management skills and knowledge. Coventry is a growing, culturally and ethnically diverse city. Our Community Mental Health Team is a specialist multi-disciplinary team focusing on the needs of people living with the effects of chronic and enduring mental disorders. The Team provides specialist assessments and interventions embracing the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding investigations and protection of human rights and civil liberties. We work to a model embracing self-directed care, utilising strengths-based approaches, co-production and promoting independence. Forensic Mental Health Social Worker You will work from Swanswell Point in Coventry and will help deliver a social work service for Coventry people who are subject to restriction orders under the Mental Health Act. This will also include people who live with a mental disorder and are at risk of criminal behaviours. The role will include liaison work with the Police, Probation, the Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements panel, the Ministry of Justice and colleagues across mental health and adult social care services, including the regional secure units at Reaside Clinic, The Tamarind Centre and Ardenleigh. You will be joining a newly formed and developing team and have opportunities for specialist training and development.

You will be a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England. You will have experience as a mental health practitioner in a CMHT or similar service with people who live with severe/ enduring mental health issues.,

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to deliver high-quality professional supervision.
  • Working knowledge of and application of MHA, MCA, the Care Act and Children's Act and protection of human rights.
  • Organisational, recording and workload management skills
  • Diplomacy, negotiating, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work in partnership with people, carers and colleagues, co-producing and securing positive outcomes for people.
