Team Leader - Cardiology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for aTeam Leader to join the Cardiology team at King's Mill Hospital, providing day-to-day leadership and support to our Cardiorespiratory administrative services.

The successful candidate will lead and support our Waiting List Coordinators, Receptionists and administrative teams, helping to ensure patients move smoothly and efficiently through their Cardiology diagnostic pathways. The role has a key focus on waiting list management, patient bookings, pathway tracking and supporting the delivery of local and national performance standards.

We are looking for an organised, motivated and approachable individual with strong communication and leadership skills who can manage competing priorities in a busy environment. You will work closely with the Associate Operations Manager, Physiologists, Consultants and wider multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality, patient-focused administrative service and support continuous service improvement.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to the Cardiology administrative teams, including Waiting List Coordinators and Receptionists, ensuring a responsive, efficient and patient-focused service. Key responsibilities include overseeing patient bookings across Cardiology diagnostic services, managing and validating admitted and non-admitted waiting lists, monitoring long-waiting patients and diagnostic performance, and ensuring local and national access targets are achieved.

The role will also involve allocating and prioritising workload, supporting staff training and development, managing sickness and leave, responding to complex patient and service queries, and escalating operational issues appropriately. Working closely with the Associate Operations Manager, Consultants, Physiologists and wider Cardiology team, the post holder will support service improvement, maintain high standards of data quality and help ensure patients progress smoothly through their diagnostic pathway.
