Team Leader - Children's Residential Home



  • Location: Stoke-on-Trent

  • Salary: £37,810.22 per annum (inclusive of sleeps)

  • Working Hours: 2 on 4 off shift pattern

  • Service: Children's Residential Home

  • Service Users: Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

  • Qualifications Required: Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare

  • Experience Required: Minimum 18 months' experience within a Children's Residential Home (near-qualified candidates with 60%+ completion of their qualification will be considered)

  • Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (6-9 Month Maternity Cover)

  • Sponsorship is not available

Team: Established staff team with a newly appointed manager who has many years of service and longevity within the organisation

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people. You will lead shifts, support the development of the staff team, and help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people.



  • Previous experience within an Ofsted Registered Children's Home

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people

  • Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and care planning

  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to lead by example

  • Confident with record keeping and IT systems

  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is preferred

  • Level 3 Residential Childcare is not equivalent to Health & Social Care qualifications

  • Applicants from Healthcare, NHS, Adult Care, Supported Living, Domiciliary Care, Nursing Homes, Mental Health Services, or similar settings without Children's Residential experience will not be considered

  • Applicants requiring sponsorship will not be considered

  • Individuals with only CQC experience and / or who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children's Home will not be considered.
