As a Team Leader, you will join a collaborative, supportive management team that works together to solve problems, improve services and deliver real benefits for the community., In the role of Civil Enforcement Operational Team Leader, here's an example of what you'll be doing to make an impact:
- Lead a team of digital enforcement officers, making sure day to day operations and checks are carried out safely, fairly, and in line with parking and traffic regulations.
- Plan staff rotas, monitor workloads and quality, and use information (for example, reports or complaint trends) to spot problems and improve how the service runs.
- Coach and support team members, giving feedback, training and guidance so they can handle difficult situations confidently and provide a professional service to the public.
- Deal with complex or sensitive issues, such as; formal complaints, and escalated queries, ensuring they are resolved in a calm and consistent way.
- Work closely with colleagues in other services and external partners (for example, town centre managers or event organisers) to coordinate enforcement activity, including at busy times and special events.
- Prepare clear records and reports, which may include statements or evidence packs, to support formal processes and ensure decisions can be reviewed and justified if challenged., As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. - Proven experience of supervising or leading staff in an operational or customer-focused environment, including planning work and monitoring performance.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate a team, give clear instructions and provide constructive feedback and support.
- Experience of dealing with challenging situations, including conflict or complaints, and resolving issues in a calm, fair and professional way.
- Good understanding of working within set policies, procedures and legislation, with the ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions.
- Confident communicator, able to build effective working relationships with team members, managers, partners and members of the public.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage competing demands and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Competent IT skills, including the use of standard office software and the ability to learn service-specific systems.
- Flexible, proactive approach to work, including a willingness to work different shifts and locations as service needs require.
