Team Lead Orthopaedic Physiotherapy

A Band 7 team leader position has arisen in our Trauma and Orthopaedics service. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and innovative individual who will work alongside another Band 7 Team Lead on the planning and coordination of the service. With the full support of management, you will play a key role in service and staff development, utilising your clinical, leadership and managerial skills. You will work with a large, friendly and dedicated Physiotherapy team to whom you will provide leadership, supervision and mentorship to. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting clinical excellence and evidence-based practice.

We are the designated major trauma centre for the East of England. We also serve the orthopaedic district general functionality for our local population.

The Trauma and Orthopaedics Physiotherapy service encompasses:

- Trauma

- Elective pathways, including day surgery

- Twilight working to enhance the recovery of post-operative patients

- Therapy provision to our surgical assessment unit (SAU) and day surgery patients.

Main duties of the job

Your responsibilities would include working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders to deliver a prime clinical service with a clear focus on service improvement through resource efficiency.

To provide highly specialised Physiotherapy and rehabilitation to patients being cared for in the Trauma and Orthopaedic wards, Elective Orthopaedic Centre and Day Surgery Units in Addenbrooke's Hospital and elsewhere.

Along with fellow Team Lead undertake the Team Leader role in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided to Trauma and Orthopaedic patients being cared for in either Level 8 within Addenbrooke's Hospital, or the Elective Orthopaedic Centre, and other centres e.g. Ely DSU on a day-to-day basis. The post holders may rotate between the Team Lead position on Level 8 and the Elective Orthopaedic Centre Team Lead position over a negotiated period of time.

To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice. Lead implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
