At Marston Green Junior School, we use a 'team around the child' model to support our pupils.

Rather than being tied to just one student, our support team rotates throughout the day, sharing their energy and talents across a variety of our high-tariff EHCP children. This means you will get to build meaningful connections with many different pupils, providing both in-class support and bespoke interventions.

To thrive in our collaborative team, you will just need a good, compassionate understanding of how to support diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, PDA, and SEMH.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed Teaching & Learning Support Assistant to join our successful school and we require applicants who are:

  • Experienced & Caring: You will have a wonderful track record as a Teaching & Learning Support Assistant, with hands-on experience supporting children with neurodiverse needs like Autism, ADHD, and/or SEMH.
  • EHCP Confident: You will feel comfortable understanding and delivering the personalized goals mapped out in a child's Education, Health and Care Plan.
  • Attentive & Responsive: You will tune into our children's unique needs, happily stepping in to offer the right academic boost or a bit of gentle pastoral care.
  • A Relationship Builder: You will build building trust and positive connections, whether you are helping a child grasp English and Maths, cheering on positive behaviour, or supporting their social and emotional wellbeing.
  • A Great Communicator: You will bring fantastic spoken, written, and maths skills to the table, helping you chat confidently and effectively with our pupils, staff, and families.
  • Champion for All: You will be committed to helping every child reach their full potential, holding a special place in your heart for those who need an extra bit of educational support.
  • High Standards, Big Heart: You will bring high expectations to the classroom and are truly dedicated to helping our school standards soar.
  • Proactive Team Player: You will work as part of a close-knit team, but you are also completely comfortable using your own initiative when a child needs you to step up.
  • Nurturing Mindset: You have a genuine desire to learn about and follow the Nurture UK Principles to create a safe, welcoming space for our pupils.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. Please note an Enhanced DBS clearance will be required for this post.

Online checks for candidates will take place prior to interview.
