Full Job Description
Job Title: Teaching Insight Programme
The scheme is designed for young undergraduates from historically under-represented backgrounds who are interested in building a career in teaching.
The scheme comprises a three-day placement at the school during term-time and features a range of activities designed to give participants a taste of the many and different opportunities a career in teaching can offer.
Participants accepted onto the programme take part in classroom teaching in subjects related to their degree and also work alongside the school's teachers in co-curricular activities. The programme will run from the 15 to 18 June 2026.
Further information can be found on the College's website Teaching Insight Programme at Eltham College and in the application pack attached.
Interested candidates should carefully read the documents and send a completed application form to hr@eltham-college.org.uk before the closing date.
Eltham College is a highly successful independent day school in south-east London, educating boys and girls aged 7 to 18 across both Junior and Senior Schools. The College has grown considerably over recent years: there are now over 800 students in the Senior School and around 260 pupils in the Junior School and places are heavily oversubscribed. Since 2020, girls have been able to join Years 3 and 7, mirroring the Sixth Form which has been coeducational for over 45 years. The school places an equal emphasis on academic, pastoral and co-curricular excellence and has an outstanding reputation in all three areas as well as for the friendly, unpretentious nature of daily life.
