Teaching Assistant - Year 1

No two days are the same! You'll play a vital role in supporting children's learning, confidence and wellbeing by:

• Helping children understand and access learning activities.
• Encouraging independence whilst providing appropriate support and guidance.
• Supporting learning across a range of subjects including phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
• Delivering targeted interventions and supporting individuals and small groups.
• Helping children develop confidence, resilience and positive self-esteem.
• Making informal observations and celebrating children's achievements.
• Supporting the implementation of individual provision plans and personalised learning strategies.
• Working closely with teachers to create engaging resources and learning opportunities.
Working Alongside Our Teachers As part of our Year 1 team, you will:
• Support the planning and delivery of learning activities.
• Lead interventions that help children make excellent progress.
• Provide regular feedback to teachers about children's learning and development.
• Assist with classroom organisation, displays and resources.
• Contribute to staff duties and wider school life.
• Participate in cover arrangements when required.
• Support children's personal, medical or emotional needs where appropriate.
• Have opportunities to teach and lead learning with whole classes.
  
  We are seeking someone who:
• Has experience working with primary-aged children (experience is essential).
• Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Has strong knowledge of the teaching of phonics.
• Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Is enthusiastic, proactive and enjoys being part of a team.
• Has high expectations for all children and believes every child can succeed.
