Teaching Assistant with IT Specialism

A welcoming SEN school in Middleton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with an IT specialism to join their team. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment for pupils with additional needs, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils throughout the school day, providing 1:1 and small-group assistance where required. The role would particularly suit someone with a strong interest or background in IT, who can use their technical skills to support pupils' learning and engagement.

Key responsibilities:

- Providing 1:1 and small-group support, adapting learning to meet individual needs.

- Supporting pupils with SEN across the classroom and wider school environment.

- Using IT and technology to support learning, communication and pupil engagement.

- Assisting pupils with accessing digital resources and developing their IT skills.

- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.

- Working closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs who also has an IT background or strong IT skills and is looking for a long-term role in a specialist school setting.

The successful applicant will:

- Have previous experience working with children or young people.

- Have experience supporting children with SEN (desirable).

- Have a strong interest, qualification or experience in IT.

- Be confident using technology and digital resources.

- Be calm, patient, resilient and proactive.

- Have a nurturing approach and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

- Have the right to work in the UK and full-time availability.

- Hold a child and adult DBS.
