Teaching Assistant and Special Needs Assistant - 20 hours or 30 hours per week, term time onlyThe role We are looking for a Teaching Assistant and Special Needs Assistant to work 20 or 30 hours per week (term time only - 38.6 weeks). The pay is £16,995 (pro rata for 5 day position), £24,330 (FTE). You will be assisting in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Head teacher, SENCO and class teachers, including:
- Assisting in the delivery of educational work programmes by participating in day-to-day learning activities.
- Assisting in the delivery of individual work programmes for pupils with an EHCP (education health care plan) and SEN pupils with IEPs as required.
- Working with small groups of pupils as required.
- Organising and maintaining the learning environment.
Good general education with English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent qualification). - An understanding of children's development and the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of young children.
- Commitment to the continuing professional development of self.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with staff, children and parents.
- Patience and the ability to stay calm under pressure or in frustrating situations.
