Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Churchdown Parton Manor Junior School

The Governing Body of Churchdown Parton Manor Schools Federation wishes to appoint a Teaching Assistant (SEN). The successful candidate will work for 18 hours each week, supporting children with additional needs in Early Years and KS1, predominantly ASC, in a small group setting with 2-3 other adults, tailoring learning to meet the individual's specific needs. There is a requirement to support children with intimate care needs.

• Has experience in this area
• Is committed and passionate about giving some of our most vulnerable children the best possible start in their education
• Has experience or an interest in working with pupils in Early Years with social and emotional needs, moderate learning difficulties, requiring support with speech & language and social interaction
• Is able to provide consistent routines and boundaries
• Is resilient, adaptive and reflective in their approach
• May have some knowledge of early reading, writing and maths skills and behaviour management strategies
• May have some knowledge and experience of My Plans/EHCPs but this is not essential
• Is able to adapt resources and lessons to support individual needs

The post is fixed term in the first instance. The postholder will also have an additional contract for 1.5 hours per week MDS cover.
