Full Job Description

The working hours for this role are expected to be 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The start date for this role is 01 September 2026.

The Grove Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Teaching Assistant to work within the Resource Base. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.

You will support the class teacher in delivering a differentiated curriculum and ensure all children can access learning effectively. You will clarify instructions, assist with the use of materials and equipment, and provide targeted support in areas such as language, reading, and handwriting to help pupils complete their work. It is your responsibility to motivate children, foster their independence, and develop strategies to meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with additional needs or EHCPs. Promoting inclusion, supporting positive behaviour, building self-esteem, and supervising children both in and out of the classroom, including during activities and trips, is essential in this role. You will provide personal and physical care where required, including supporting hygiene needs and carrying out therapy programmes under professional guidance. Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to contribute to planning, record pupil progress, communicate with
parents, and provide feedback on learning and behaviour. You will also support the wider school environment by maintaining resources, promoting health and safety, and following school policies while engaging in ongoing professional development
