Teaching Assistant and MDSA

We require an enthusiastic, dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team at Box. The role will involve supporting high-quality learning in the classroom, including providing tailored support for a pupil/s with additional needs, as well as supporting children's practical, social and pastoral needs during lunchtime. We are looking for someone with experience of supporting pupils within the primary curriculum, particularly children with ADHD who benefit from support with attention, managing anxiety, developing emotional vocabulary, social communication and responding effectively to sensory differences.

Hours: TA 16.25hrs/week 8:45am to 12.00pm Monday to Friday (term time only - 38 weeks)

MDSA 5hrs/week 12.00noon to 1.00pm Monday to Friday (term time only - 38 weeks)

The role will involve:

- Working alongside a class teacher to support high quality learning in English and Maths and meet the needs of the children in class, including supporting a pupil/s with SEND (8:45-12:00 Monday to Friday)

- Lunch break supervision, working in a team to support children practically and socially at lunchtimes in the dinner hall and/or outside (12:00-1:00 Monday to Friday)

Good knowledge of Maths and English (GCSE Grade C/equivalent)

- Experience working with children

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Understanding of learning and children's development

- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Desirable:

- Relevant NVQ qualifications

- Experience of supporting learning in a Key Stage 2 classroom, including supporting pupils with SEND
