Full Job Description
Your Next Career Move Could Change Someone's Life - Including Your Own! Are you great with people? Patient, caring and looking for a job where you can genuinely make a difference? You don't need classroom experience or a background in education to become a Teaching Assistant at Red Kite School. We're looking for people with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a passion for helping young people succeed. Perhaps you've worked in retail, hospitality, customer service, childcare, care, sports coaching or youth work. Maybe you're looking for a completely fresh start. Whatever your background, you could have exactly the skills we're looking for! We'll provide the training, guidance and support you need to develop your confidence and settle into your new role. You'll spend your days helping students discover their strengths, overcome challenges and celebrate achievements. From encouraging someone to try something new to helping them achieve a personal milestone, you'll be part of moments that really matter. And with Monday to Friday, term-time-only working, you'll have more time to enjoy the things you love outside of work. What you will be doing
- Be a positive role model, helping students feel supported, encouraged and ready to learn.
- Make learning fun and accessible, supporting students in the classroom and throughout the school day.
- Build confidence and independence, encouraging young people to try new things and develop important skills.
- Work alongside teachers, helping create engaging activities and a welcoming learning environment.
- Offer reassurance and encouragement, supporting students through challenges and helping them develop resilience.
- Celebrate the little wins and big achievements, making every student's progress feel special.
No previous Teaching Assistant experience? That's absolutely fine! We're interested in your personality, attitude and willingness to make a difference. You'll be someone who: - Is kind, patient and approachable, with a genuine interest in helping others.
- Enjoys working with people and can build positive, trusting relationships.
- Brings enthusiasm, positivity and a can-do attitude to each day.
- Can remain calm, understanding and resilient when situations become challenging.
- Is happy to learn new skills, take on training and develop professionally.
- Works well as part of a team and enjoys supporting others.
- Is committed to keeping young people safe and supporting their wellbeing. Whether you're taking your first step into employment, returning to work or looking for a more meaningful career, we'd love to hear from you.
- Life Assurance
- Pension scheme with options to increase contributions
- "Your Wellbeing Matters" - mental health support and physical health checks
- Flexible Benefits Platform (Vista), including:
- Health, wellbeing and insurance benefits
- Hundreds of UK and international discounts
- Cycle to Work Scheme & Electric Car Purchase Scheme
- Critical illness cover
- Family Growth Support, including enhanced maternity/paternity leave and paid fertility treatment support
Red Kite School is an independent special school for up to 60 young people aged 11-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Opened in September 2024, the school is located in the beautiful market town of Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. We provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where every young person is understood, valued and encouraged to thrive. Our experienced team creates a calm, structured environment where students build confidence, resilience and achieve positive outcomes through personalised learning, high expectations and strong relationships. Our curriculum develops the knowledge, emotional resilience, social communication and life skills students need to succeed in education, their communities and beyond, helping every young person become a confident learner, responsible citizen and prepared for their future. At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity. We are proud to be a part of OFG Education who in 2025 were officially certified as a 'Great Place to Work' for the sixth year running.
We place students and vulnerable young adults at the heart of everything we do, so every day brings the satisfaction of making a real difference. We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.
