Job DescriptionTeaching Assistant (Level 3, Grade 3) Specialist 1:1 EHCP SupportLocation: Oxford Prep SchoolHours: Full time, term time, 5 days a weekContract: Fixed Term Contract 1 YearSalary: £20,963,96 pro rata (FTE £26,000.00) About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to provide high-quality classroom support alongside specialist 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).Working closely with teachers, the Learning Support Team, parents, and external professionals, you will help ensure the pupil can fully access learning, achieve their individual targets, and develop confidence, independence, and wellbeing. You will also contribute to supporting pupils across the wider classroom and school community.Key ResponsibilitiesSpecialist 1:1 EHCP Support Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil in line with their EHCP and individual targets. Deliver agreed interventions and support programmes, including
those recommended by external professionals. Monitor, record, and evaluate progress, contributing to assessment and planning processes. Promote independence, self-esteem, inclusion, and positive engagement in learning.Teaching & Learning Support Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences. Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and achievement. Prepare and adapt learning resources to meet individual needs. Support educational visits and wider curriculum activities.Pastoral Care Promote positive behaviour and support pupils social and emotional development. Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Assist with supervision during break times, lunchtimes, and pupil transitions as required. Provide first aid if appropriately qualified.Communication & Collaboration Work collaboratively with teachers, learning support staff, parents, and external agencies. Maintain accurate records and communicate pupil
progress and concerns appropriately. Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities at all times.Professional Development Participate in training, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities. Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including meetings and school events.About YouThe successful candidate will: Have experience supporting children in an educational setting. Demonstrate an understanding of SEND and EHCP provision. Be patient, empathetic, and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential. Possess strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills. Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents, and professionals.
