Teaching Assistant

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you'll provide day-to-day support for pupils with a range of needs, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence and develop both academically and emotionally. Every pupil is unique, and your encouragement, patience and care will play a vital role in helping them thrive in and beyond the classroom. What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils with autism and additional needs in their learning and development
• Assisting with engaging classroom activities and personalised learning experiences
• Providing emotional and practical support tailored to individual pupils
• Helping pupils build confidence, independence and social skills
• Supporting both indoor and outdoor learning activities
• Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
• Working collaboratively as part of a supportive and passionate team
• Helping create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  
  GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C / grade 4 or above
• Caring, adaptable and enthusiastic
• Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
• Confident working in a variety of learning environments, both indoors and outdoors
• A strong team player who values collaboration and mutual support
• Calm, patient and responsive to individual pupil needs
• Eager to learn, develop and grow within a rewarding education career
  
  Hemlock Stone School in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire opened in March 2026, and caters for up to 66 pupils, providing a specialist learning environment for young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Complex Needs.
