Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Heswall, Wirral on a full-time basis, starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people in their education and helping them achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students both academically and personally, contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subject areas while providing one-to-one and small-group support to students aged 11-16 (and where applicable, post-16). You will play an important role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and remain engaged in the classroom.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SEND colleagues to ensure students receive appropriate support.

Supervise students during lessons, examinations, educational visits, and other school activities when required.

Previous experience working with young people in a secondary school, educational, youth work, or similar setting is desirable.
