Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential? We're looking for caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our growing team at our Longdon Parkway site in Burton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students aged 14-19 with additional needs, helping them develop the confidence, skills, and independence they need to succeed both in education and beyond. Every day is different, and every achievement matters. Whether you're helping a student overcome a challenge, celebrating a breakthrough moment, or supporting learning in and outside the classroom, you'll play a key role in changing lives. What you will be doing As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral professionals to provide personalised support for our students.
- Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, creative, and practical learning experiences.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual student needs.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
- Helping students build confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Supporting learning in both classroom and outdoor environments.
- Building strong, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and empowered.
- Creating a positive, inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.
GCSE Grade C/Level 5 or above in English and Maths - Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A positive, patient, and resilient approach
- The ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school day
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- UK driving licence
Longdon Park School opened in June 2015. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7 to 18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour primarily with a diagnosis of ASD. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour. We are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage. Longdon Park School is not readily accessible by public transport. For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
