Full Job Description

Bridgwater College Academy are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support the learning in the Secondary classrooms, working Monday to Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students' learning and wellbeing in a dynamic educational environment., As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating in learning activities.
  • Promote independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education and behaviour plans.
  • Provide feedback to pupils and contribute to progress records.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Support the use of ICT and help prepare resources for lessons.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection standards.

    Have a good level of literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths).
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or have equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and ICT skills.
  • Are confident, well-organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Have experience working with children in an educational setting.
