Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an excellent Teaching Assistant (SEND) to work under the direction of the SENCO, supporting students with special educational needs to access learning, achieve their potential and develop independence. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including cognition and learning, communication and interaction, social, emotional and mental health needs, and sensory and/or physical needs.

The role will involve working closely with individual students and small groups, adapting learning activities, implementing support strategies and assisting teachers in delivering an inclusive curriculum. There may also be opportunities to provide support before school, during social times and after school where appropriate.

You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, promoting engagement, confidence and positive outcomes both academically and personally. Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, families and external agencies, you will contribute to the effective implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), SEND support plans and targeted interventions.

We are looking to recruit a confident, patient and resourceful individual who is passionate about inclusion and committed to ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed. You will work as part of an experienced and dedicated SEND team, supporting students both within lessons and through targeted interventions.

A genuine passion for working with young people with additional needs is essential, alongside the ability to build positive relationships, demonstrate resilience and adapt support to meet individual needs.
