Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant, who will partner with classroom teachers to support teaching and learning with a dedicated focus on working on a 1-to-1 basis with vulnerable pupils. Under the direction, guidance, and supervision of teaching staff, you will adjust learning activities within set parameters to meet the specific needs of your assigned pupils.

  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience of supporting children in a learning environment.
  • Ability to provide high levels of individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks appropriate to the pupil's needs.
  • Able to use language and communication skills that children can understand and relate to, establishing positive relationships.
  • Able to consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
