Katharine Lady Berkeley's School wishes to add to its existing supportive and hardworking team of Teaching Assistants. The role provides in-classroom support to young people with special educational needs.
The position is term time only, 27.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.20am to 2.50pm with a 60-minute unpaid break . There may, however, be some flexibility on hours for ideal candidates. The full-time equivalent salary is NJC Points 11-14 (£28,142- £29,540) dependent on experience, qualifications and hours worked. The actual pro rata salary is £17,489- £18,358.

Candidates should have a good basic level of education in order to support the young people in their studies, and should have experience of working with young people in some capacity. Although relevant childcare or educational qualifications and experience in intervention teaching would be advantageous, applications from candidates who are able to show that they possess transferable skills or experience are also encouraged.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and team working skills, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in the wellbeing and development of young people. They will be confident to supervise children within the school's policies and guidelines and be able to manage their time effectively with minimal supervision.Katharine Lady Berkeley's School is a very successful comprehensive with excellent results at GCSE and at A Level.
