Full Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of Class Teachers and Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will play a vital role in helping children access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a safe and stimulating environment.,

  • Supporting pupils' learning, including those with additional needs, ensuring their safety and engagement.
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource management.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion across the school.
  • Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, including lunchtime and school trips.
  • Supporting the use of ICT and helping pupils develop digital skills., Astrea Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.     Has at least 2 years' experience working with or caring for children in an educational setting.
  • Holds relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent).
  • Has strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths).
  • Understands the national curriculum and how to support learning across subjects.
  • Is confident, enthusiastic, and motivated with a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff and work effectively as part of a team.
