Full Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 class at a welcoming primary school in Chatham, Medway. This is a full-time, temporary position starting immediately and continuing until the end of the current academic year.,

  • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to support learning and engagement
  • Assisting pupils with academic tasks, including literacy and numeracy
  • Helping to maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Preparing classroom resources and displays as required

    Experience working with children in a primary school setting (Year 5 experience desirable)
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

    A supportive school environment
  • Consistent, full-time hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
  • Opportunity to gain valuable experience within Key Stage 2
