Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Technology (Design Technology & Construction) to join our committed team at Moorside High School. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students through practical, creative and vocational learning, helping them develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for future study and careers in design, engineering and construction-related fields. You will join a supportive department within a school that values innovation, high-quality teaching, and strong relationships with students. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Design Technology and Construction across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, prepare and assess learning to ensure strong student progress
- Use a range of teaching strategies, including practical and theoretical approaches
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and engagement
- Contribute to curriculum development within the Technology department
- Track and monitor student progress, providing clear and effective feedback
- Create a safe, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
- Support enrichment opportunities and extracurricular activities where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards across the department and school
A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree - Passionate about Design Technology and Construction education
- Able to inspire, motivate and engage students of all abilities
- A strong classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners
- Committed to teamwork, professional growth and school improvement
- Positive, resilient, and dedicated to making a difference in young people's lives
