Full Job Description
As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality curriculum that challenges students at all levels. From the foundational skills of Key Stage 3 to the rigorous demands of GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, your lessons will balance technical theory with practical application. You will have the autonomy to develop innovative schemes of work that reflect contemporary food trends while maintaining a relentless focus on health, safety, and hygiene. Beyond the classroom, you will play a key role in the wider school community, contributing to extracurricular clubs, school events, and the pastoral care of students as a Personal Tutor.
The successful candidate will be a passionate practitioner with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a deep understanding of food science and nutrition. Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) eager to make your mark, you must possess the ability to manage a busy practical environment with confidence and care. We are looking for an educator who can differentiate effectively to ensure every child, regardless of their starting point, leaves the kitchen with a sense of pride and accomplishment. A commitment to your own professional development and a desire to collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Technology curriculum are essential.

Driven by ambition, CG is committed to inspiring every student to achieve their full potential. As part of the University of Kent Academies Trust, students enjoy unique opportunities with the University, including mentoring from student ambassadors, campus visits, tailored curriculum programmes, international links, and a wide range of enrichment activities that support both academic and personal development.
