Full Job Description
Teacher of Spanish
Full Time Permanent (Part-time considered for the right candidate)
Lampton School is a large, mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school. We were judged as "Outstanding" in all categories by Ofsted in 2005, 2008, 2013 and 2024. We are the lead school for the London West Alliance and Teach West London, and we are a teacher training partner with the University of Roehampton. As a member of the Hounslow Education Partnership we can offer staff excellent opportunities for professional learning and career progression.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Spanish to join a highly successful department that offers French, German and Spanish at key stages 3, 4 and 5. Applications are welcome from experienced or newly qualified teachers. The ability to offer a second language is also welcomed but not essential.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with experience of enabling pupils to achieve their full potential. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching that will inspire our pupils. Familiarity with the AQA specifications for both GCSE and A-levels is desirable.
The Modern Foreign Languages Department at Lampton is highly successful. Take up of modern foreign languages at GCSE is much higher than the national average. More than three quarters of our students opt to study a modern foreign language at GCSE and A level classes are offered in all three languages. Spanish results are very strong with pupils making excellent progress. The Modern Foreign Languages department is outward facing and offers many enrichment opportunities. Students benefit from being taught in small groups of 20- 25 students. Trips abroad are offered every year as well as day trips and a wide variety of extracurricular activities are also organised. The languages department currently consists of ten language teachers and three MLAs.
Applications are welcome from teachers with QTS, QTLS. Very good support is given to ECTs and those training to teach in the school.
Lampton School actively encourages and supports the safeguarding and protection of all its students. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. In accordance with the DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 statutory guidance, we will complete a search of publicly available content online relating to any candidate seeking to work at Lampton School.
Please read the documents listed on the TES job advert, and apply through TES. Please contact Sharon Samrai (ssamrai@lampton.org.uk) with any queries. CVs will not be accepted.
Applications will be considered as they are received, and we may make an appointment prior to the closing date.
