Teacher of Sociology - Permanent Full Time or 0.8 FTE To start January 2027 We are looking to appoint a permanent Teacher of Sociology from January 2027 and would welcome full-time or 0.8 FTE applications. A departmental responsibility may be available for the right applicant. We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers. We have a well-developed programme for ECTs and believe that Hinchley Wood would be an excellent place to start your career. If you are a talented, highly motivated practitioner with the ability and enthusiasm to deliver innovative and enjoyable GCSE and A Level sociology lessons to our Key Stage 4 and 5 students, we would love to hear from you. Sociology is a popular subject choice at GCSE and A Level. In 2026, 100% of students achieved grade 4 or above at GCSE level, with 36% achieving grade 7 and above. At A level 100% of students achieved A
- -C with 83% achieving A-B grades. Hinchley Wood is a state comprehensive which is an inclusive and high achieving school. We are based in Esher, Surrey on the borders of SW London. We have over 1400 students on roll including over 300 students in our Sixth Form.
