Full Job Description
The University of Kent Academies Trust is seeking to recruit a Teacher of Science to join our community at Chatham Grammar. This is a part-time position; however, full-time hours may be considered for the right candidate. The start date is to be agreed with the possibility of an early appointment. The successful applicant will be a qualified and enthusiastic teacher with the knowledge, energy and commitment to deliver high-quality science education across the curriculum. They will have the ability to inspire and engage students, fostering curiosity and a passion for learning within Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics. The Teacher of Science will contribute to the continued development of the Science department, supporting a collaborative and innovative approach to teaching and learning. The role includes delivering well-planned and effective lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment. The successful candidate will be committed to enrichment opportunities that enhance students' learning beyond the classroom. This may include science clubs, STEM activities, trips, competitions, or other initiatives that promote a wider interest in science. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers who are eager to develop their practice within a supportive and forward-thinking school community. Chatham Grammar (CG) is a selective girls' academy for students aged 11-19, with a mixed sixth form, sponsored by the University of Kent. From September 2026, CG will begin its transition to a fully coeducational academy by welcoming boys into Year 7.
