Honours degree or equivalent, in a Science related subject (2:2 or above)
Qualified teacher status
Enthusiastic and outstanding classroom practitioner
To be able to teach Science up to GCSE and A Level standard. Knowledge and experience of teaching Chemistry as a separate GCSE subject and at A Level is desirable
Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum in Science
To have high expectations for all pupils
To keep up to date with research and development in science and teaching pedagogies
To work as part of a large Science team and to foster and maintain collaborative working relationships and the sharing of good practice
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to manage time effectively
Develop and implement policies and practices which reflect the school's commitment to high achievement
To be able to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and members of the community
To be able to assist in the planning and organisation of school trips/visits
