Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher of Physics from September 2026. This is intended as a full-time appointment, but part-time applications over four working days will also be considered. This is an exciting opportunity to shape learning within our warm and dynamic school community. The successful candidate will teach gifted and dedicated pupils in the senior school. We warmly encourage applications from recent graduates and postgraduates, including those with no prior teaching experience and those who may not have previously considered a career in teaching. We also encourage applications from individuals exploring a career change, those returning from a career break, and recently retired teachers. Full training is provided for applicants who are brand new to teaching, and the school offers its own teacher training programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Person Specification The post will suit someone who has:

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine interest in Physics as an academic discipline
  • An eagerness to inspire and support all pupils to flourish and reach their academic potential
  • A desire to enrich the intellectual experience of pupils beyond the exam specifications in lessons and by supporting pupil involvement in challenges, competitions, and societies relating to Physics
  • Strong pastoral instincts and a commitment to excellent pastoral care and safeguarding for all pupils
  • A desire to contribute to the school's thriving cocurricular programme
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An ability to work well with others
  • A personal commitment to ongoing professional development

  • Prior experience of teaching Physics in a secondary school environment
