Full Job Description
Perhaps you're an ECT - or maybe you've already gained some teaching experience? Either way, we understand why you joined the profession. You want to be an amazing teacher. You want to help every student, irrespective of their background or abilities, to succeed. In short, you want to make a positive difference to your students' lives.
We also understand that to achieve your aims, you need outstanding support and development that's shaped to meet your needs and aspirations. Like first-rate induction and CPD programmes that include cross-Trust collaborative opportunities.
Join us and you can look forward to all of that, as well as a clear focus on coaching and a mentoring system that's proved to be highly successful in helping new staff to integrate quickly. What's more, you'll find a strong peer-to-peer support structure in place to share and develop each other's skills - and ECTs are given additional support and time off timetable to do so (and we can employ you before the summer too!).
As for the culture here at Lode Heath, it's all about working collaboratively and supporting each other to deliver exceptional teaching and learning for all our students. Nowhere is this truer than in our PE Department. Here, our motivated, innovative and talented team is driven by high aspirations and new ideas. And they support our broad curriculum by delivering core PE and GCSE PE. Our team also offer BTECs in Sport, Health & Social Care and Travel and Tourism, plus dance at KS3!
We're utilising fresh approaches to feedback which make best use of peer and self-assessment, AI and software to help students 'close the gaps'. Plus, we are really focused on developing students' wider skills like teamwork and leadership and offer a wide range of related extra-curricular opportunities such as Flight Club. We take part in a range of external events and competitions, and we also work closely with the Borough's School Sports Partnership in both hosting and supporting their many events, which further develop our students as well as contribute to the wider community. And we can boast that our students are SEND Penathlon champions and many of our students represent the local area, wider region and the nation in their chosen fields.
As a teacher, you will be an effective classroom practitioner who is ready to contribute to our successful team to ensure even higher attainment and more positive learning experiences for our students. You may already have some experience, or this might be your first position as a teacher, but your commitment and desire for excellence will be clear.
There's an exceptional environment waiting for you outside of work, too. One of the most prosperous towns in the Midlands, Solihull offers plenty of superb amenities from its thriving shopping centre through to lively bars and first-class restaurants. Close to Birmingham Airport, the NEC and the new Resorts World development, it also has excellent transport links to Birmingham city centre and beyond.
Lode Heath School is a member of the Arden Multi-Academy Trust, where we are committed to working together to help and enrich the experiences of all within the AMAT family; we have a clear vision to generate self-belief, self-worth, esteem and confidence in our young people who can then display the ambition and aspiration in achieving high educational outcomes.
Being female is a genuine occupational requirement for this role, as you will provide people of that gender group with support in accordance with the Equality Act, which supersedes the amended section 7(2) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
An informal visit to the school is a great way to discover Lode Heath for yourself. Just contact Mrs Jones at the office@lodeheath.org.uk to arrange a date.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.
Arden Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality or religion. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, will be subject to a social media online search.
