Teacher of Maths- Second in charge LOCATION:London Borough of Croydon HOURS: Full Time START DATE: September 2026 SALARY:MPS/UPS Outer London Pay Scale Coloma Convent Girls' School in Shirley is recognised as one of the top non-selective secondary schools in the country. We are consistently oversubscribed and a very popular choice within the borough and other local boroughs. In October 2019 Coloma received its fifth 'Outstanding' Diocesan Inspection report and in 2021 was named 'Best School in Croydon' in the Real Schools Guide. In December 2022, The Times released its 'Parent Power Schools Guide' to the top 1600 UK schools based on 2022 exam results. Coloma was ranked 2nd in the best girls' comprehensive category and 39th in the best comprehensive school category. With most recent results showcasing the dedication and commitment of our young people. Candidates should be able to teach across the age and ability range to KS5 and to provide evidence of successful teaching strategies and excellent organisational skills. Applications are considered from both experienced and newly qualified teachers. We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking candidate with a proven track record of driving strong outcomes to support our Head of Department as Second in Charge. In 2025, the Attainment 8 score was 57.29, significantly above the national average. In Mathematics, 62.4% of students achieved Grade 5 or above, significantly higher than both the local average (42.1%) and the national average (45.2%). At A Level, 74.4% of students achieved grades A

  • -C, while 100% of BTEC students achieved grades D-P.
