Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner, who will support the implementation and delivery of our Mathematics curriculum. The successful applicant will be fully acquainted with the GCSE content, and looking to be actively engaged with continued professional development to further enhance their subject knowledge. As a core subject, the delivery of Mathematics at St Andrew's is a school priority, alongside English, Science and Religious Studies. The successful applicant will be excited about supporting students in undertaking the mastery curriculum. Through small steps, students are guided in developing a deep understanding of the mathematical concepts. Those interested in the potential Whole School Numeracy TLR should make themselves known during the application process. This role would be ideal for either an experienced teacher or leader looking for a new challenge, or an ECT seeking their first teaching post.
- Enthusiastic about promoting excellent outcomes for all students
- Passionate about removing barriers to accessing learning
- Committed to excellence; enabling all students to reach their potential and achieving outstanding outcomes Are you a passionate and innovative teacher? Do you inspire students to be the best they can be? Do you want to help develop a cutting-edge curriculum?
I can say, unequivocally, that I am proud to be a member of the St Andrew's community, and that it is an honour to be the Headteacher of a school filled with so much love. With significant investments continually being made across the school, we continue to seek opportunities for real innovation and change. St Andrew's is a school that has love at its core. You see it in the relationships between staff and students; both in the classrooms and the corridors; and in the excellent pastoral care that every student is given. I have heard many describe being part of our school community as being like 'family'; both giving and receiving unrelenting love. Our core Christian values run through all that we do, both in daily life and in strategic development. We have the highest expectations and aspirations for all members of our community, and accept nothing less than an individual's best. Our curriculum is broad and balanced, with all students undertaking 10 GCSEs. Maths is a strength of the school; outcomes are strong and students regularly comment on their love of the subject. We are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner to join our Maths team as a key team member retires. There is significant opportunity to grow professionally at St Andrew's, and to play a large role in supporting the school to continue on its journey of growth- therefore we are looking for an individual who is keen to learn and develop with us. For the right candidate, we are seeking an individual to drive forward whole school numeracy; numeracy is the foundation of mathematical thinking, and key to the success in many subjects, alongside aspects of every day life. We recognise that we are all unique, with unique training and developmental needs - and we aim to give every staff member the best CPD to enable them to reach their career goals, no matter what that goal may be. This includes, but is not limited to, degree level apprenticeships in Youth Work. The successful candidate will have: aspirational vision that will inspire our young people and staff to be the best that they can be; a positive and solution focused approach, applying a 'can do' attitude to any potential challenges; and a desire to change the lives of young people for the better. It truly is an exciting time to join St Andrew's. Whilst considerable growth and progress has been made in recent years, there is still so much impact to be made as the school goes from strength to strength.
