Teacher of Maths

Post title: Teacher of Maths Responsible to: Head of Maths Salary: PT1 - ET3 Start date: September 2026 Purpose of the role The successful applicant will teach Mathematics across the secondary age range, with opportunities to teach GCSE Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Statistics, and A-Level, depending on experience. The role involves delivering high-quality, mastery-informed lessons, assessing progress effectively, and contributing to curriculum development and enrichment. The post holder will work collaboratively within the department and contribute positively to the wider life of the school. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well-sequenced, high-quality lessons in Mathematics that reflect the department's mastery approach and NCETM principles.
• Develop students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency and mathematical reasoning through precise explanations, effective modelling and carefully designed practice.
• Use assessment intelligently to identify misconceptions, adapt teaching and provide timely, impactful feedback.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and engagement, creating a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment.
• Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, and contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching where appropriate and experience allows.
