- . At Thorp Academy, members of the Maths department provide formal, high quality mentoring to ECTs, and mathematical pedagogy is at the heart of discussions in staff training. Staff at Thorp teach across the age and ability range with 5 staff teaching 6th form and 10 staff teach Year 11. The Maths department are passionate about professional development and access to weekly high quality CPD from school leaders, and subject directors, as well as courses led by the NET Staff College, local Maths Hubs and the AMSP.
