Full Job Description
Join a thriving Mathematics department teaching GCSE, A Level and IB, where subject expertise, collaboration and co-curricular life are central to the role.
Welcome to Wellington College, a dynamic and values-led boarding and day school community where academic excellence sits alongside a rich co-curricular and pastoral life. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, our 400 acre estate is a unique and inspiring place to work.
The Mathematics Department is a large, well-established and highly collaborative team, bringing together a wide range of academic interests and teaching experience. Staff work closely to support pupils across GCSE, A Level, Further Mathematics and the IB Diploma, while contributing to a culture of shared responsibility, professional dialogue and subject enrichment. Teaching takes place in a dedicated, well-resourced mathematics block designed to support high-quality teaching and learning.
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to teach pupils aged 13-18 and to contribute positively to the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the College. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, confident teaching across the age and ability range, and keen to stretch and support pupils in reaching their full potential. You will work closely with departmental colleagues to plan engaging lessons, share best practice and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
As a teacher at Wellington, you will play a full part in the wider life of the College. This includes involvement in extra-curricular activities, enrichment opportunities and the pastoral system, supporting pupils as part of a boarding or day house. The College values teachers who bring their interests and enthusiasm beyond the classroom, contributing to the vibrant programme of academic extension, societies, sport, and cultural activities that underpin the pupil experience.
Wellington College places strong emphasis on professional development and collaboration. Teachers are encouraged to reflect on their practice, engage in continued learning and contribute to the collective expertise of the teaching community. This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking department within a school that values kindness, integrity, respect, responsibility and courage.
Wellington College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must undergo child protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You must have the right to work in the UK.
