Full Job Description
As Teacher of History, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to KS5 depending on experience. You will deliver well-structured lessons that develop:
- Secure historical knowledge across a range of periods and themes
- Disciplinary thinking, including causation, significance, and change over time
- Source analysis and interpretation through structured practice
- Strong extended writing through modelling and purposeful feedback
- GCSE success through deliberate practice and clear exam technique You will work closely with colleagues to plan effectively, share resources and ensure pupils experience a well-sequenced curriculum that supports long-term understanding. The Department The Humanities department is supportive and collaborative, with shared planning and consistent approaches to assessment. History is popular at KS4, and the department values enquiry-based learning, strong literacy routines and high expectations for written work and discussion.
