Furze Platt is the lead school for Teach Maidenhead, a teacher training partnership which offers School Direct teacher training giving staff the opportunity to develop their mentoring skills. ECTs are allocated a mentor, a reduced timetable and the opportunity to attend training sessions run by specialists from within the school. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference to the lives of young people. You will be a team player who can communicate sensitively and confidently with students and colleagues. You will also be able to use your own initiative and have strong organisational and time-management skills. We are looking for a fully qualified, enthusiastic and motivational teacher of Geography to join our Geography Department at Furze Platt. We are a highly cohesive and well-resourced department, teaching the WJEC Spec. at KS4 and Edexcel Spec. at KS5. The teaching and learning within the department incorporates many of the synoptic elements of Geography, with students developing a depth and breadth of knowledge to provide a geographical base of understanding for later life. Candidates will have opportunity for future progression within the department. We offer various enrichment and real world learning experiences for our students, including international field trips, local area studies and academic conferences. We are looking for either a full-time or part time to 0.8FTE to start January 2027. A TLR may be available for the right candidate - this may not necessarily be subject based.
