Full Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Food Technology with Art & Design teacher to join one of the highest performing schools in the country

The Trust wishes to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and highly motivated Teacher of Food Technology with the ability to teach Art & Design to join a dynamic, experienced and deeply committed department at Wembley High Technology College and/or North Brent School. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about creative and practical subjects, and keen to contribute to a high-performing team with a strong track record of success.

Design and Technology and Art & Design are important and growing areas within the Trust, offering students opportunities to develop creativity, technical skill and independence. Food Technology plays a key role in equipping students with essential life skills, including nutrition, health, and practical cooking, while Art & Design enables students to explore and express their creativity through a range of media and techniques. Together, these subjects make a significant contribution to students' cultural capital and personal development.

From September 2026, the Trust will launch the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), providing an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to the development of a rich and ambitious creative curriculum. This represents a significant platform for professional growth, curriculum design, and collaboration within a forward-thinking educational environment.

The successful candidate will be creative, well organised and committed to excellence in the classroom, and will play a key role in further developing Food Technology and Art & Design across the Trust. They will also contribute to our vibrant and wide-ranging extra-curricular programme, including enrichment activities such as cooking clubs, design projects, exhibitions, and opportunities that showcase students' creativity and practical skills.

We welcome applications from ECTs as well as those who wish to train to teach. Trainee teachers at WMAT schools receive a comprehensive, structured training programme, delivered by highly trained mentors and bespoke to the individual trainee's needs. If you are keen to develop into an outstanding teacher, enjoy sharing best practice with a community of dedicated peers and have a firm commitment to getting the best outcomes possible for our students, then Wembley High and North Brent School are outstanding schools in which to train.

Wembley High has an established reputation for a strong focus on academic excellence.
