This has never been more evident than through our recent work in delivering our core principles of 'Dream big, do your best, give back', fostering a community filled with kindness and respect., We are seeking a well-qualified, motivated and innovative Teacher of English to join our collaborative and ambitious English team.
The role has specific responsibility to deliver 'Core Support' in Year 11 and Year 10 which is a directed option for students who require additional support in English. It will include pre teaching and literacy support, arranging, planning, delivering and communicating with parents regarding bespoke literacy and English interventions for students in Years 7-11 (with or without an EHCP.)

The postholder will be engaged in regulated activity.

+ Successful teaching experience and teaching intervention experience and working with children who need additional adaptive support in the classroom and through interventions
+ Ability to develop excellent relationships with pupils and staff
+ Good organisational skills and ability to work in a team
+ Commitment to using ICT as a teaching tool
+ Commitment to high expectations and standards of work
+ Enthusiasm, flexibility and ability to adopt differing teaching styles
+ Creativity in bringing ideas to the faculty
+ Enthusiasm for and willingness to participate in or lead trips

Gordano School, part of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership, is a large and successful 11-18 comprehensive secondary school approximately eight miles outside Bristol. Our school includes a thriving Sixth Form of approximately 350 students that is strongly integrated into the life of the school and offers significant opportunities for sixth form teaching in over 30 courses.
