Full Job Description

The Fulham Boys School is seeking an excellent teacher to join our thriving English department. The successful applicant will play an integral role in ensuring the success of boys' outcomes as well as contributing to an extensive extra-curricular programme. The opportunity to teach at all key stages, including English Literature or English Language A-level, is available for the right candidate. The English department has consistently been one of the leading departments in the school since we opened. GCSE pass rates have been above 90% every year and above 95% in 2024 and 2025, with 87% achieving grade 5 or above in both of these years. Our first A-Level English Literature cohort achieved ALPS Band 1 in 2022 and we have a healthy cohort of enthusiastic A-level students every year. You would be joining an established team of talented and committed teachers who work collaboratively to ensure that our challenging curriculum is geared towards the enthusiastic boys we teach. What we offer As a school we are passionate about the professional development and wellbeing of all of our staff. We offer:

  • 172 school days per year with 5 INSET days
  • Sixteen (16) weeks of school holidays - more than most state schools
  • An annual staff wellbeing day where the school is closed
  • Exceptional commitment to effective, evidence-based CPD that takes place on a daily basis and supports all staff to grow in their roles and prepare for future roles.
  • Free staff lunches during term time, tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit in the staff room
  • Subscription to the Education Support employee assistance programme
  • Half-termly 'shining lights' where staff nominate others for recognition
  • Regular staff socials and sport
  • Use of the on site gym
