What we are looking for
Are you looking to join a team of passionate English teachers, dedicated to delivering a rich and engaging curriculum that fosters a deep understanding of both literature and language? We are looking for someone to join NSB following our recognition as 'Secondary School of the Year' at the Northamptonshire Education Awards and 'Comprehensive School of the Year' in the East Midlands for 2025 - the third time we have secured this honour in The Times and The Sunday Times 'Best Schools' Guide' based on our outstanding GCSE and A level results. We are also immensely proud of our most recent Ofsted report from March 2025 which celebrated our 'Outstanding' provision in all areas of the inspection framework.
We are looking for an English teacher with experience of delivering high quality teaching and learning and yielding positive outcomes for all students. The successful applicant must be highly motivated with a desire to support students across a range of abilities and deliver lessons that are driven by evidence-informed practice. We are seeking a teacher who can build students' confidence and equip them with the knowledge and skills not simply to 'do English', but to think and write like literary critics and authors. We are looking for someone who is passionate about inspiring students to pursue the subject at GCSE, A level and beyond.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone to share in our driven, supportive and aspirational culture who can work alongside a team of subject experts to deliver our curriculum to the highest standards.
How to apply
We welcome all interested applicants to arrange a telephone/video call so that you can learn more about NSB and what we could offer you as a member of staff. Please take a few moments to visit our website to learn more about the school and our reputation for delivering both academic and extracurricular success.
Application forms can be found via the school website on the 'Vacancies' page. Please send your completed application form to hr@nsb.northants.sch.uk. Alternatively, please apply through the TES or TeachNorthants portal. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
Closing date: 9am, Tuesday 5th May 2026
Interview Date: Friday 8th May 2026
