Teacher of EAL (0.6 FTE)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of EAL to join the EAL Department at St Mary's School, Cambridge.

The successful candidate will teach pupils aged 11-18, supporting their development in English and helping them access the wider curriculum. Teaching will include preparation for Cambridge English B2 First, C1 Advanced and IELTS, as well as English Language Support and subject-specific support where required.

The EAL Department works with students from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds and is committed to helping every student develop confidence, independence and enjoyment in using English.

We are looking for a teacher with excellent classroom practice, strong communication and organisational skills and a commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence. A relevant degree is required; DELTA is preferred, although CELTA or an MA in Applied Linguistics with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Reports to: Head of EAL.
