We are relentless in our focus on high standards, adaptive practice, and equity for all learners-and we expect the same professional curiosity and commitment from our staff. In return, you will be part of a school that values courage, collaboration, and creativity. We are not interested in maintaining the status quo. We want to work with the best-and we are determined to beat the best. If you are driven by impact, excited by innovation, and ready to be part of a school that is shaping its future with confidence and purpose, Oldbury Wells School is the place for you. __________________________________________________ About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Drama (with an Additional Subject) to join our vibrant and ambitious school community. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality Drama education that inspires creativity, confidence, and critical thinking. You will foster a love of performance, storytelling, and theatrical practice, while enabling learners to engage deeply with dramatic texts, character, and cultural context. Alongside Drama, you will contribute to the wider curriculum through teaching an additional subject aligned with your expertise and the needs of the school. A strong commitment to inclusive and adaptive practice is central to this role. You will ensure that all learners-including those eligible for Pupil Premium (PPG), learners with SEND, and those facing additional barriers-are challenged, supported, and enabled to succeed. Through thoughtful planning, high expectations, and responsive teaching, you will promote equity, engagement, and progress for every learner. You will be a reflective practitioner who values collaboration, embraces innovation, and contributes positively to the wider ethos and life of the school, including enrichment opportunities such as performances, productions, clubs, and cross-curricular projects. __________________________________________________ Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistently high-quality teaching in Drama, fostering creativity, confidence, and a deep understanding of performance, theatrical practice, and dramatic texts.
  • Teach an additional subject, as required, supporting the effective delivery of the wider school curriculum.
  • Design and deliver well-sequenced, engaging lessons that secure strong progress and maintain high expectations for all learners.
  • Promote inclusive and adaptive teaching strategies that meet the needs of all learners, including those eligible for Pupil Premium (PPG), learners with SEND, and those facing additional barriers to learning.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Drama curriculum planning, assessment, and enrichment opportunities in line with whole-school priorities.
  • Foster a lasting love of Drama beyond the classroom, providing inspiring opportunities for learners to engage with Oldbury Wells Drama Club and to participate in ambitious, high-quality theatrical productions that build confidence, creativity, collaboration, and cultural capital.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to support cross-curricular learning, particularly where Drama connects meaningfully with English and other creative subjects.
  • Actively promote and model a strong commitment to learners' personal development, wellbeing, and engagement.
  • __________________________________________________ General Responsibilities
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times, in accordance with statutory guidance and school policy.
  • Work in line with professional standards, statutory requirements, and all school policies and procedures.
  • Carry out designated duties related to the effective day-to-day organisation of the school.
  • Engage positively in professional development, performance management, and reflective practice.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities reasonably assigned to support the effective operation and continued development of the school.
