Teacher of Drama

Job Title - Teacher of Drama Department - Drama Line Manager - Head of Drama Salary - Dependent on experience Working Hours and Basis - Part-time (0.8 FTE) Start Date - January 2027 The successful candidate would work with our Drama department to ensure the delivery of first-class teaching across the school. Moreton Hall is a Centre of Excellence for Drama teaching and is growing year on year. We are looking for a candidate to join a team that is committed to building on this reputation. Role Outline and Responsibilities At Moreton Hall we are passionate about Drama and the Performing Arts. It is a very popular choice for exam study and plays a large part of our extensive co-curricular programme. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

• Teach Drama across the range from KS2 to KS5 (the ability to teach GCSE Drama,A Level Theatre Studies and Level 3 UAL Diploma is essential).
• Lead and/or participate in the extensive range of extracurricular activities offered by thedepartment, including the School Productions for Senior / Middle and Prep Schools.
• Assist in the development of Drama as a career choice for pupils at Moreton Hall.
• Participate fully in the life of this busy boarding school.
• Follow all duties as per the general Moreton Hall teaching job description.
Person Specification Qualifications:
• A subject-specific degree and excellent subject knowledge / PGCE or equivalent as well as relevant industry experience.
Experience:
• Experience of teaching KS4 and KS5 Drama is essential, as well as leading on productions (school-based or professional).
Personal Qualities:
• An enthusiastic, organised, team player, ready to nurture aspiration whilst managing expectations.
• Proven ability to set high standards and inspire young people.
• Clear and accurate written communication skills.
• A flexible attitude and a willingness to take on new ideas and challenges.
• An energetic and enthusiastic approach.
