We are looking for an inspirational Teacher of Design Technology with the ability to teach all core areas across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will be a well qualified teacher who will join a friendly and supportive department with an excellent success record. The ideal candidate will be a specialist teacher who will bring energy and enthusiasm to the delivery of their subject. They must possess a clear vision for outstanding subject provision, and have the ability and commitment to securing high standards of student achievement making learning relevant, and developing employability skills in our future young professionals. - Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across all abilities and key stages.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all students and promote high standards.
- Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to support learning.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the D&T curriculum.
- Promote the department through competitions, projects, and practical workshops.
- Support students' personal development, welfare, and safeguarding.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in professional development.
- Ensure health and safety in workshops and practical sessions. - A subject-specific degree-level qualification in Design & Technology. Desirable:
- Further professional qualifications related to teaching or Design & Technology. Knowledge & Experience Essential:
- Outstanding classroom practitioner and excellent role model for students and staff.
- Ability to teach across all abilities and key stages.
- Up-to-date understanding of new developments in the teaching of Design & Technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team.
- Experience contributing to the development of teaching strategies.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse student population and meet the needs of all learners.
- Well-organised and able to adhere to deadlines.
- High expectations of the standards that can be achieved by all students.
- Experience promoting the department and engaging students in external competitions. Desirable:
- Previous experience teaching in a Catholic school or faith-based setting.
- Experience working with cross-curricular projects or interdisciplinary initiatives. Personal Qualities & Skills Essential:
