Full Job Description
We are a 'Good' school (Ofsted, April 2024), where our boarding provision was recently judged as 'Outstanding' (Ofsted, 2025). The inspectors highlighted that our "students are making significant progress," noting they are "supported through a culture of high expectation, helping them to achieve the best they can." We are a lively and purposeful co-educational, comprehensive state boarding school for children aged 7 to 18 years, with approximately 700 flexi-boarders and 300 full boarders. - Convenient location, close to the A23 and M25 with on-site parking We are looking for a teacher who can deliver highly effective, engaging and innovative teaching Design and Technology education across the school, ensuring that all students make excellent progress and develop confidence in their creative thinking and problem solving abilities. The successful candidate will inspire curiosity and a genuine passion for the subject, encouraging students to explore ideas, embrace iterative design, and develop sustainable solutions to real-world challenges as responsible designers of the future. They will be committed to creating a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels supported and challenged to achieve their best. Design and Technology is taught across all key stages (2-5) and is a highly valued and popular subject within the school. Students respond enthusiastically to opportunities to develop their practical skills, critical thinking and understanding of new and emerging technologies. The department aims to foster creativity, resilience and independent thinking, while enabling students to produce work they can take pride in.
