Full Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic colleague who shares our vision of teaching as a vocation, and who will seize an exciting opportunity to work at Rugby School. The successful candidate will join a large forward-thinking department and teach Design and Technology lessons to students throughout the School. Skills in metal work, woodwork, CAD and engineering would be welcomed.

A levels, the School is delighted to offer all students the chance to study the IB, a programme closely aligned with Rugby's ethos of developing the whole person. Rugby is renowned for its highly successful and innovative approach to education. We have a Rugby Way for teaching that emphasises preparation for lessons, discussion and high quality questioning to support challenge and accelerate progress. As a coaching school we are looking for staff who are committed to a professional obligation to improve as teachers and who value personal growth. We offer a varied programme of professional development, including in-house leadership courses for aspiring middle and senior leaders and regularly support colleague switch Learning Awards for specific projects or further education. Our aim is to ensure our colleagues are prepared well for the next step in their career.

The School is a boarding and day school in full operation seven days per week including evenings during term time. Pastoral, co-curricular, cultural and sports activities take place outside normal day-school hours. All full-time staff are expected to make a full contribution. Accommodation is provided for all full-time teaching staff to suit the individual family context.
