Full Job Description

Full-time, fixed-term, non-residential position starting September 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. A qualified or unqualified teacher wishing to develop or begin a career in teaching, is sought to teach Computer Science and ICT throughout the school, including at GCSE and Level 3. About the post This is an exciting post for an enthusiastic, talented teacher - either qualified, or unqualified seeking to commence an exciting career in teaching - to develop their enjoyment and expertise in delivering the teaching and learning of computing and programming for pupils aged eight to eighteen, including GCSE and A Level. See the job description on our website for more information. About the department The Computer Science department is based in the very centre of the School's campus, in dedicated computer suites, and is resourced with Clevertouch interactive teaching screens. Computing, encompassing Digital Literacy, Computer Science and Information Technology, is taught to all pupils in years Four to Eight. Students start learning to write Python code in Year Eight, ready for using it at GCSE. The department has been expanding its teaching of Physical Computing, with BBC Micro:bits and the Raspberry Pi being the current choice of hardware. Key Stages three and four see a focus on GCSE Computer Science and the Tech Award in Digital Information Technology, with both subjects being very popular choices for our pupils. The Sixth Form programme comprises A' Level Computer Science, which is a popular choice with students progressing to university to read Computer Sciences and related subjects. C# is introduced at A' Level to widen the students' experience of programming. From September the Level 3 Information Technology (AAQ) is also being offered which is already proving popular for those who are more design inclined with the design aspect, and as progression from the Level 2 DIT.
